Revelations – The Initial Journey is a 2002 TV series, produced by Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group in New Zealand. The stories are told through the narrator who is called Jess the Traveller and played by Tom Hern. Each episode contains a story from a different time and place in world history. The show ran for one season and it had 26 half-hour episodes.

    Temptations' RunThe year is 1888, and Jess finds himself competing in a friendly race and interacting with the inhabitants of a small gold mining community. Jess also encounters an innocent immigrant named Tugen who dreams of winning the local schoolteacher's affections against all the odds. But something more malicious may be unfolding that requires Jess's intervention.

    A Dream of FlyingIt is modern times, and following a crippling accident, Anna, a former teen horse riding prodigy, and her family visit a campground where Jess is working for the summer. Initially, Anna and Jess clash, but eventually they become friends, and Jess is able to inspire Anna to remember that the future is always hopeful.

Upon recovering, Jess becomes fascinated with the local culture, and befriends a young man named Tuku. Events take an unexpected turn when English missionaries arrive preaching their interpretation of the word of God that is misinterpreted by the local people.

When one of the orphans accidentally reveals that she and her sister are children of the rebel Simon Avaran, and are thus being sought by Roman soldiers, Jess's attempts to intercede place him in great danger.

    Tomorrow is Another DayDuring his travels through Central America in the year 1580, Jess encounters a girl who is drowning in a lake. Upon saving her life, the girl's family is very grateful to Jess. Other tribe members, however, are suspicious of Jess, the new stranger. All soon realize, however, that they have more in common that unites them than divides them.

    Unfinished BusinessIt is modern times, and during an attempt to find glucose for his diabetic girlfriend, Greg, a 16-year-old star rugby player, engages in a fistfight with a young man named Carl. Tragic news soon follows when Greg is told that he will never play rugby again, leaving Greg with a desire for revenge. Jess, not in agreement with Greg's motives, helps persuade him to seek an alternate course of action.

Jess intervenes, hoping to stifle the gang's energy, but Tully's crew remains persistent, forcing Jess to seek alternative methods of teaching the gang a lesson.

    David and Mr GIt is modern times, and after being fired from his vegetable delivery job, Jess is hired by Saul, a humble restaurant owner in Brooklyn, New York. Things turn sour when a pair of gangsters threaten Saul's business, and Jess finds himself in great danger as he attempts to seek justice for Saul and help Saul rid himself of the insidious gangster threat.

Jess soon finds himself caught in the middle of a jealous family feud between Esau and his brother Jacob revolving around a traditional ritual that will determine who will become the leader of the tribe after Jacob and Esau's sick father passes away.

In seeking a hideout, he stumbles upon a wedding in Cana where he happens to meet Jesus, who suggests that Jess follow Him as a disciple. Jess remains a gardener and soon discovers that there are potent ways to change society, and that words are more effective than weapons in that capacity.

When Jess attempts to reunite Tommy with April, it illuminates within Tommy a renewed sense of perspective.

    Heads You LoseDuring the French Revolution, while working as a servant in the Chateau of Pierre Mandin in 1792, Jess is forced to serve Pierre's buffoonish, drunken son, Phillipe. With the threat of the Republicans increasing, Phillipe is disguised as a servant, and while wearing his disguise, Jess is able to help Phillipe see the world from another point of view.

    The RunawayIt is 1850. Jess befriends 16-year-old Samuel, who is expected to take over his deceased father's job as the village baker. Samuel dreams of travelling the world and "being somebody." At the spur of the moment, when a minstrel troupe performs in the village square, Samuel decides to run away with them and travel the world.

    God On Our SideJess finds himself in a mythical, ancient time, encountering the Mali and the Dujane who have been at war for generations. Farin has been appointed to negotiate a peace treaty. The two tribes agree to surrender the thing most valuable to them within 7 days, but revenge, fanatical tradition, and war are never simple to reconcile, and Jess finds himself right in the middle of the predicament.
  • The Play's the Thing

    The Play's the ThingA theater company is visiting the small town of Woolaroo in 1920's Australia. Upon arrival, they find Jess stowed away in their coach, who explains his actions by mentioning that he wants to become an actor. The group thus recruits Jess, but when a Hollywood producer watches their show and is impressed by Jess's acting talents, bitter jealousy soon arises within the group.
