During his travels through Central America in the year 1580, Jess encounters a girl who is drowning in a lake. Upon saving her life, the girl's family is very grateful to Jess. Other tribe members, however, are suspicious of Jess, the new stranger. All soon realize, however, that they have more in common that unites them than divides them.
