Jess finds himself in a mythical, ancient time, encountering the Mali and the Dujane who have been at war for generations. Farin has been appointed to negotiate a peace treaty. The two tribes agree to surrender the thing most valuable to them within 7 days, but revenge, fanatical tradition, and war are never simple to reconcile, and Jess finds himself right in the middle of the predicament.
