The year is 1888, and Jess finds himself competing in a friendly race and interacting with the inhabitants of a small gold mining community. Jess also encounters an innocent immigrant named Tugen who dreams of winning the local schoolteacher's affections against all the odds. But something more malicious may be unfolding that requires Jess's intervention.
