- Halim Mellick1d agoI watched “Talk to me” leading into midnight 2025/26 and started my year with my hole absolutely clenched. Bring her back was next on my list and it wasn’t until I was about to hit play that I noticed that it was the same directors. Having no idea what to expect from these movies, watching them back to back sure was an experience. Talk to me was quite anxiety inducing but Bring her back somehow brought that to another level. I’m a huge fan of horror - especially Stanley Kubrick, Ari Aster and Jordan Peele. As far as Aussie horror really like The Babadook and The Loved Ones. If you are a fan of any of the above mentioned I think both movies are worth checking out and I would recommend talk to me before this one - other’s may disagree. Really loved these movies and I can’t wait to watch them again once I’m in the right mood to be spooked to heck and back. I did have to look away for a scene (table) and its the first time I’ve had to look away from a film as an adult, but that moment didn’t detract from the story, if anything it enhanced it - but if you need to look away you’re not missing the crucial moment - it has already reached the goal of the scene
- Doc Worm6d agoAn art house horror film that’s an allegory for grief?! Bring her back almost plays out more of a crime thriller than just a traditional horror flick and to great effect. Sally Hawkins, who I’m used to seeing in such tender roles, gives quite the dense performance. The Philippou’s sophomoric outing proves they’re one of the great new voices in original horror.
- Kristian OdlandJuly 30, 2025I will NEVER floss with a carving knife again! Grapefruit! What a horrific and chilling second outing for Danny and Michael Philippou. Who knew a couple of YouTubers would establish themselves as masters of horror so quickly? I already can't wait to see what they do next.
- filmaddict0077d agoBring Her Back is a genuinely eerie and unsettling horror film that sticks with you long after it ends. It’s one of the more effective horror movies to come out in a while, not just because it’s scary, but because of how deeply uncomfortable and disturbing it can be. The film doesn’t hold back when it comes to graphic and violent moments. There are scenes that are hard to watch in the best and worst ways—visceral, painful, and designed to make you recoil. It’s the kind of horror that gets under your skin and stays there. What really elevates the film is how well it’s written. The tension is constant, the dread builds naturally, and the story never relies on cheap scares. Sally Hawkins delivers an incredible performance as Laura—easily one of the best performances in a horror film this year and absolutely awards-worthy. Billy Barratt is also fantastic, and the rest of the cast holds their own, making the emotional beats hit even harder. Beneath all the terror, Bring Her Back is a deeply emotional and bittersweet film. At its core, it’s about grief and loss, and how those emotions can either be processed or completely consume someone. The movie handles these themes with care, and the ending is quietly devastating in a way that feels earned. Overall, Bring Her Back is a strong, disturbing, and emotionally resonant horror film. It delivers real dread, powerful performances, and a haunting message that makes it far more than just another scary movie.
- Lasse ViinikainenDecember 27, 2025Uncomfortably unsettling from start to finish.
- rickmassieDecember 21, 2025I am simply in awe. This is one of the greatest films I've ever seen. The portrayal of grief is unlike anything I've seen before. I went in expecting a standard horror flick, and instead found a true masterpiece.
- Yuvi RandhawaJune 21, 2025Amazing. Simply amazing. The direction, performances, story, every aspect is so well done I walked out of the theatre genuinely in awe
- Tyler SJuly 1, 2025The Philippou brothers have definitively proven themselves as the must see horror directors of this decade. Talk To Me was an amazing debut and Bring Her Back is an incredible follow up. Creepy and bleak as all hell, this was a disturbing and hands down not feel good movie of the year. Cast was amazing but the obvious standout is Sally Hawkins. The bros knew what was up, you get mother fucking Sally Hawkins as a lead in your movie and you let her cook, and cook she did. The range of her performance throughout was mesmerizing, one second she's making you laugh the next your stressed and horrified. It's the same Oscar horror movie ignorance that robbed Toni Collette & Mia Goth that will no doubt rob Hawkings of the nomination her performance deserves. Hopefully the grim and unrelenting dread this movie induces doesn't keep people away, if you are a horror fan you are doing yourself a disservice not seeing this gem on the big screen. Highly Recommended! 👍👍 8.5/10
- MerlinDecember 12, 2025Perhaps a future classic.
- danmath41December 10, 2025Very well made film. By the end I felt sad and exhausted. I’m not sure I’ll watch it more than once.
