- TogetherTogether
- FriendshipThe toad scene was one of the most effortlessly funny things I’ve ever seen in my lifeFriendship
- VivariumAn absolutely dreadful horror movie about the realities of suburban living. JK, it’s deeper than that but it really wakes you up and makes you never want to become *that* person. Oh, and it’s creepy asl.Vivarium
- Beau Is AfraidI appreciate how creative and visually stunning this film was. But, I can’t lie and say I wasn’t bored out of my mind during long portions of this film.Beau Is Afraid
- MidsommarMy favorite horror movie about grief, and my favorite horror movie in general. Dani’s cries will forever haunt me.Midsommar
- HereditaryThis is what I would consider a perfect horror movie. I remember watching this from home and having the crap scared out of me during that *SPOILER* one scene with the mom floating on the ceiling. Not only does it excel in its scariness, but has excellent acting, writing, everything.Hereditary
- The BabadookThe Babadook is one of the pioneers of “grief” themed horror movies. This film is more complex than you think with metaphors sprinkled in everywhere. However, it does get a bit boring at times for my personal taste. The Babadook
- Bring Her BackDanny and Michael Philippou have done it AGAIN. What a disturbing, disgusting nightmare this film was. Bring Her Back breaks the boundaries of just how disturbing a theatrical release can be. The ambiguous atmosphere adds to the creepiness of the film, making the viewer feel like they’re part of that world.Bring Her Back
- Never Let GoNever Let Go was a bit of a disappointment that relied heavily on stereotypical CGI jump scares. The concept of the film was very creepy and the acting was good, but the scares just didn’t do it for me.Never Let Go
- Final Destination: BloodlinesWithin 20 minutes of watching, I knew this wasn’t going to disappoint. Not only were the kills extremely brutal and gory, but the crippling sense of anxiety that Final Destination films give viewers was at peak capacity here. Characters were also extreme likability and an ending that didn’t disappoint.Final Destination: Bloodlines
- Fear Street: Prom QueenPretty much a stereotypical teen slasher that doesn’t bring anything innovative to the table. Although the Fear Street Trilogy is merely unbeatable, this doesn’t come anywhere close to give it grace. The ideas for the kills were pretty good but with weak execution and the ending was one of the only parts I enjoyed.Fear Street: Prom Queen
- The Ugly StepsisterA genius take that puts a body horror twist on the story of Cinderella. A blend of morbidity and beauty using artistic visuals and a nostalgic feel with the practical effects. Also… the tapeworm scene?! Insane. The Ugly Stepsister
- DropA suspenseful movie you can turn on after a long day without thinking too hard. Although there were some eye roll corny moments, I found myself unable to turn away as the events unfolded before my eyes, becoming gradually more suspenseful throughout with a satisfying ending.Drop
- A Minecraft MovieIt was fun. Very unserious, but the whole theater was having a good time and I laughed quite a bit. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece, but it’s for the younger audience and it did its job for that age group. Sometimes we need to step back as adults and realize who the movie was really made for and have a bit of fun.A Minecraft Movie
