Where to Watch The Golden Girls
- RichardOctober 26, 2025Saw it on TV in the ’80s, didn’t get all the jokes back then, but I knew it was something special. Four women, one pastel hued Miami home and a bottomless supply of cheesecake. Dorothy’s sarcasm, Rose’s St. Olaf stories, Blanche’s romantic escapades and Sophia’s savage one liners made this sitcom a weeknight ritual. Even as a kid, you could feel the rhythm of the punchlines and now, rewatching it, the layers hit even harder. The writing is whip smart, the chemistry electric and the themes surprisingly progressive for their time, aging, friendship, love, loss and the occasional jab at Reagan era politics. It’s comfort TV with bite and the kind of show that only gets better with age, just like its cast. Watching it again on feels like flipping through a photo album of your TV upbringing. The fashion? Iconic. The laughs? Still land. The heart? Always in the right place.
