In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to a child's disappearance, which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise-peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town, while a few of the locals begin to understand that more is going on than meets the eye.

- Scott Smith7d agoI really love the Stranger Things series. I've been along for the ride since the beginning, and I'm really sad to see it all end. Season 4 with Eddie will always be my favorite, but the final season 5 was a great ride and wrap-up. Great horror writing that was so well directed and acted. I'm going to miss these kids from Hawkins.

It's not a perfect show, but it is an exceptionally strong one: ambitious, entertaining, and consistently engaging from start to finish. The series succeeds first and foremost because of its storytelling. The plot remains compelling across seasons, managing to evolve without losing its identity. The pacing is tight, rarely dragging, and the sense of momentum keeps episodes binge-worthy even when the stakes grow larger and darker. It knows how to balance mystery, horror, adventure, and emotional beats without letting one overwhelm the others. Performances are another major strength. The cast - especially considering how young many of them were when the show began - delivers remarkably solid work throughout. Characters grow naturally over time, and their relationships feel earned, making the emotional moments land with real impact. The chemistry between actors is a huge part of why the show works so well. On a technical level, "Stranger Things" is top tier. The cinematography is polished and cinematic, the production design is rich and immersive, and the music is iconic, suggestive, well-constructed, and perfectly aligned with the show's tone. Few series manage to create such a strong audiovisual identity. That said, it's not without flaws. There are moments, particularly in the final season, where certain elements feel slightly forced or out of sync with the otherwise high standards of the production - small details that momentarily break immersion. Still, these issues are limited and never derail the overall experience. In the end, "Stranger Things" closes its story with dignity. It's bittersweet to see it end, but also reassuring to know that the creators held onto the quality until the very end. A landmark series of its era - flawed, yes, but undeniably great.

It’s got a great balance of character development and plot twists that keep you hooked. The show’s 80s vibe is spot on and it’s just a fun, engaging watch from start to finish. Although season 4 was the weakest in the series, the show is definitely worth the hype.
