Eastenders' star Jake Wood appears as a villain involved in a warehouse robbery that goes seriously wrong. A husband leaves his wife who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown and who takes extreme measures to keep her two children quiet.

A mature bus driver is plagued by his thrash metal guitarist neighbour, so he bites his finger off during a Danes V Saxons re-enactment. A dangerous driver causes Casualty Car Crash#45 involving a woman undergoing dialysis for renal failure. A small boy has an inflamed penis and will only discuss it with Richard.

When a manipulative young woman requests that her boyfriend steals eggs from an eagle's nest, he and another climber fall from a rock face.

A young man is admitted having eaten poisonous mushrooms in the belief they are the magic kind.. Kate and Trevor's daughter visits and tries to persuade her mum to switch off her dad's life support. A randy solicitor tries it on with a sticky out ears junior and gets tossed across the room. Someone sends flowers to the very popular Gloria.

A father intent on revenge on the drug dealer who supplied his daughter who died causes Casualty Car Crash#47 resulting in the wrong casualty. When a little girl gives her chronically ill baby brother Diazepam to stop his constant crying his mother and father debate whether or not to get medical attention.

    Vital SignsIn Guy Fawkes' night themed accidents an alcoholic, cantankerous old woman vagrant climbs up a bonfire pile and falls into a skip full of fruit & veg and a small boy with arguing grannies and a high flyer medic mum played by This Life star Amita Dhiri is burned by fireworks; an air force pilot has loads of things mental and physical wrong. It is revealed that Richard has MS and naturally wants it kept secret because it would mean losing his job. A time waster old man hopes to be diagnosed with an illness which will prevent him from working. Charlie is afflicted with sleep deprivation on account of baby Louis. The team celebrate getting a helicopter as an air ambulance.

    Another Day in ParadiseA runaway Land Rover on a caravan site on a remote hillside leads to Casualty Car Crash#48; Josh and Liz are flown in to tend to the injured girls. A building labourer with a history of self harm followed by attempted suicide sets his sights on an attractive young woman. Kate's husband's condition gets worse and the family have a conference about what to do. Sam finds a puppy in a cardboard box and smuggles it into the department. A superb singer entertains the patients waiting for treatment but has a sad reward.

    Flesh and BloodA naughty schoolgirl runs away from home and hitches a ride with a trucker displaying a variable Geordie accent played by future Casualty bad boy Nathan Spencer actor Ben Miles who dumps her at the roadside when she is taken ill. Richard makes serious enquiries of Gloria into her love life situation and finally asks her out for dinner. Various staff give blood including Matt who tries it on with a married blood scheme admin woman but has better luck with Jude. Charlie reveals to an old woman patient his middle name is Rupert. Trevor's family hold a final bedside vigil and we also say goodbye to Mike.

    Made in BritainThere is an awkward atmosphere between Jude & Matt following their night of bliss. In a Watch This Space moment, Matt has a run in with an abusive patient. Actor Peter Birch debuts as top doc Jack Hathaway, partly reprising his role as obersturmfuhrer in Auf Wiedersehen Pet, but also establishing his professional skills by undertaking a risky surgical procedure. A young female patient reluctant to supply information and being given cash by a mature male leads Jude to believe she may be on the game. Legend Jean Anderson appears as a care home resident who suffers a massive stroke. A groom on his way to the register office is knocked down by a cyclist. Richard, Gloria and Sam deliver a baby - the groom's grandchild.

    Mother's Little HelperA small girl finds her pregnant mother unconscious and is savaged by a shop keeper's guard dog while seeking help; the girl is deaf mute but fortunately Sam knows how to sign. Matt is summoned to a meeting with an admin woman and Charlie regarding his altercation with the stroppy patient who is pressing charges. A rugby player has had a naval piercing for a bet which has turned septic - Richard gets him out of the brown stuff. A groom has an epileptic fit during his wedding but the ceremony is later reconvened in Casualty. The atmosphere between Matt & Jude remains tense.

    TrappedFuture Casualty star Suzanne Packer (Tess Bateman, Series 18 to 29) appears as a drug mule who gets thrown into a river by her partner in crime, a top cop, in an attempt to kill her. Gloria's ex boyfriend storms in demanding to see her and feigns pain when she turns him away - he backs down when Richard says he will need to examine his rectum but advises him not to expect a long term relationship with Gloria. Jude is surprised and sad to learn that a faulty condom means she's pregnant with Matt's baby. A pillion passenger is injured in a fall from the motorbike of his girlfriend played by future Casualty star Jane Hazlegrove (Dixie Dixon, Series 20 to 30) who later takes Matt for a spin. Kate stuns Dr Elliott by requesting to donate the entire £80,000 of Trevor's life insurance to medical research. Jude is heroine of the day by inadvertently videotaping an incriminating conversation. Grange Hill superstar Michael Cronin appears as an even more top cop.

Richard asks Gloria to spend Christmas with him. A little girl, distressed when told Santa Claus does not exist, is badly cut by broken glass when she runs into a greenhouse. An irascible piano tuner injures himself when he smashes a violin to make a point to an apprentice. A priest reacts violently when his young niece is killed and sister are critically injured by a remorseless drunk driver. Richard has another meeting with his GP regarding possible treatment for his MS.

    The Dying of the LightAn old man with dementia and a fussing son has a violent outburst striking several orderlies much to the son's delight. A young woman solo singer from a group of theatrical stereotypes has a vocal problem. A pregnant woman with toxoplasmosis is worried it's karmic retribution for an earlier abortion. Jude at long last finds the opportunity to tell Matt she is expecting his child. The James Bond themed Christmas party means an unrelenting series of bad impressions of its characters by staff and other interested parties. Kate is exceptionally keen to enjoy herself and Jack shows a gentle side when it is apparent she is overcompensating for her bereavement. Liz as Rosa Klebb from With Russia With Love wins the fancy dress competition and the dame from the theatre group is the star of the Christmas party performing a saucy song.

    The HomecomingA sex criminal is released from prison and faces the inevitable retribution - but not from the father of his victim who has a different viewpoint. Eastenders' superstar Perry Fenwick appears as an ex con with a pregnant wife who doesn't want her baby and will go to extreme lengths to secure a termination. A man comes in search of his son who has converted to Hare Krishna and been the victim of a traffic accident. On another morning after the night before for two staff couples, Matt and Jude chew things over and Jude decides she wants a termination, and Gloria questions Richard after finding his MS medication. The sex criminal, badly beaten by vigilantes, asks the father of the child he killed to suffocate him.

    Hidden DepthsIn a child heavy episode, Sam shows a group of children around the department; Josh and his helicopter see action when a boy suffers hypothermia by falling into a flooded quarry while his mother is distracted by two scuba diving fools; meanwhile, in another 'Watch this space' moment, Liz and a new colleague who will later be revealed as Donna Alexander are called in when Baz & Charlie's baby Louis is admitted with convulsions having been deliberately overheated by his suspiciously attentive nanny. A woman questions the relationship between her husband and his sister who is ambulanced in with gastro interritus. Two lovers are admitted, the man with groin injuries, the woman with head injuries from being hit by a table lamp by the man.

    Tall TalesA leisure centre man upsets a changing room full of women by forgetting the door lock doesn't work; his stressed out wife falls from recreational device and is most distressed by having to be treated by a male nurse - Charlie - and the woman later alleges that he touched her breast. Jack tells the artist a mural she's painted for the department is unsuitable. A man is in great pain because his wife has put itching powder in his underpants in an attempt to stop his infidelity. Baby Louis is brought in by nanny Margaret who transpires to have Munchausen's by proxy. Ronald Pickup plays a twins, one of whom is ill, the other having sympathetic symptoms. Matt makes arrangements to accompany Jude when she has her termination.

    Déjà VuOn the day of Charlie's hearing for sexual harassment, a reporter pesters staff for information and pretends to have a hand injury to get attention - Baz gives him what for. Matt takes Jude to the clinic for her abortion. A jail bird's wife, just having found out her sister is pregnant by her husband, causes Casualty Car Crash#50 by ramming the prison van taking her husband, another con and two officers to court. The attractive young woman artist has commenced the re-drawing of her mural and seems interested in lonely, single Jack. A top cop, known to Kate and on site to oversee the prison van crash casualties, recognises the driver as a wanted criminal and has him arrested. The second jail bird makes an escape by stealing the reporter's car. The cop asks Kate on a date. Charlie is suspended pending more evidence.

    United... By BloodFormer landscape gardener David starts work on reception. Jack interrupts a staff room pizza feast to request a search for some missing dentures. A young boy who is reluctant to speak turns out to be disturbed by witnessing his father in a gay liaison with his uncle. Two warring families come to realise they don't know why they're fighting. A man demands a cure for his wife's shopaholism. Possibly anticipating a repeat of the recent Charlie and grumpy keep fit woman incident, Kate intervenes when Richard is about to examine a young woman with the minimal clothing of her striptease act adhered to her bosoms.

    Make BelieveA mugging brings a shy woman and the man she admires together and one of Richard's old flames turns up. It's a sad night in A & E, as Matt has had enough of attending the sick and needy from behind the reception desk and is off to serve the hot and thirsty in his brother's bar in sunny Crete. His leaving party goes awry but can he really leave Jude behind?

    Monday Bloody MondayJosh pays a visit to the remains of his house; he and Liz are called out to a woman who has overdosed on antifreeze. Although the department appears to be overrun with new faces, Charlie asks management for more staff. Richard getting an anaesthetics posting is apparently known to all except Gloria, who is most displeased. The new mural is unveiled to an audience including a press git who sneers at Charlie over bosomgate. Other casualties include two old dears one of whom crashes her invalid carriage in casualty's car park, the other having a mole she fears is malignant. A young woman is initially pleased to be asked to identify a corpse as that of her abuser junkie step father. Kate is threatened with a knife by the female half of an arguing couple. Jude is found stabbed and bleeding to death.
  • Perfect Blue

    Perfect BlueJude is still lying on the corridor floor. Charlie stays with her until Baz and Sam come running with a trolley. They rush her into the resuscitation unit where her condition gets worse and Baz starts compressions. She finally makes a turn for the better and they take her into theatre.
