Josh pays a visit to the remains of his house; he and Liz are called out to a woman who has overdosed on antifreeze. Although the department appears to be overrun with new faces, Charlie asks management for more staff. Richard getting an anaesthetics posting is apparently known to all except Gloria, who is most displeased. The new mural is unveiled to an audience including a press git who sneers at Charlie over bosomgate. Other casualties include two old dears one of whom crashes her invalid carriage in casualty's car park, the other having a mole she fears is malignant. A young woman is initially pleased to be asked to identify a corpse as that of her abuser junkie step father. Kate is threatened with a knife by the female half of an arguing couple. Jude is found stabbed and bleeding to death.
