Gary Down (6 October 1942 - 23 July 2023) was a New Zealander-Australian actor and director who worked in a long career on stage, film and television.
Down worked with the Southern Comedy Players and then the Union Theatre Repertory Company in Melbourne. In 1968 he went to England and appeared in Irma La Douce at the Theatre Royal Windsor in that year. Although Gary had an extensive career as a theatre actor and director, he also made a number of guest apperances on TV. These included roles in Homicide, Matlock Police, Prisoner, A Country Practice, Police Rescue, The Secret Life of Us and Neighbours.
