The Patriot Ratings & Reviews
- mickerdooJuly 13, 2025Phenomenal cast. Great story with funny, tragic and thrilling moments. Costumes and settings are on point. Revolutionary War staple.
- Patrick D.June 29, 2025Man, this movie pisses me off because it's such a good movie, but the writers really butchered some of the historical accuracy. I love colonial American history and to my surprise they are very accurate about a lot of aspects in this film, but they just ignore other aspects completely. Just to name a few, they completely sanitize the slavery subject and make the British unrealistically and cartoonishly evil. I get why they did it. 'Merica and whatnot. It's a Hollywood movie after all. One other nitpick would be the choreography was weak at times and the slow mo sure didn't do it any favors.
- 匚卂尺ㄥFebruary 12, 2025Life every Mel Gibson film, it's a fabulous, intense, heavy, drama that's highly worthy of praise. It's brutal, and will most probably will keep you at the edge of your seat, like it did with me! The Patriot is about a man, who's intention is to seek vengeance against a brutal Loyalist, who killed his son. I would highly recommend it, but best left to teens 15 or 16, because it's pretty graphic and grizzly, such as an ax in the head, a sword in a throat, and a blown-off head, but are not too much to handle. But if you are at a suitable age, then you really should watch it!!!
- KylachamMay 15, 2025A truly epic feat in storytelling. Mel delivers an intense performance that is nicely balanced with his humorous side, and Heath is as lovable as ever. Wilkinson and Isaacs are perfect in their roles as the two very contrasting antagonists, particularly Isaacs who excels in a love-to-hate-them role. Yes, liberties are taken with historical facts, but I can't bring myself to give a damn.
- Cameron Aaron HynemanFebruary 25, 2025I love this movie and I have it on DVD. I give it a five star because it is about American history about the American revolutionary war so basically this movie is based on true story
