Where to Watch Spaceballs
- Mel Brooks is a comedy genius, and Spaceballs is hands-down one of his funniest, most quotable movies! The way he parodies Star Wars (and pretty much all of sci-fi) is just brilliant—from Yogurt to Dark Helmet, every character is ridiculous in the best way possible. 😂 This one has always been a personal fave—probably one of the better Brooks films in my opinion. The jokes still hit after all these years, and the timing? Chef’s kiss. If you’re into clever spoofs and want something that doesn’t take itself seriously at all, Spaceballs is a must-watch. Absolute classic! “Ludicrous speed… GO!
- This is a weird movie, but likeable. I guess I'm a nerd. Lol Anyway, great cast and I get a kick out of the different spoofs of different movies and shows of that time. Mel Brooks sure knows how to make a satire movie! I laughed so much and it kept me interested with the adventure to it. Seems that Mel Brooks also has a thing with his movies being a movie within a movie, if that makes any sense. For example with Blazing Saddles the whole time you think this is the actual setting of a western town and the town folks, but by the end of it you realize that it was a movie about a Western and that those characters were just the actors. I also loved the music of the Spaceballs ship sounding like Jaws. I also liked the soundtrack to the film as well.
- One of the best parodies ever made — silly, fast, and packed with great sci-fi jokes. Rick Moranis steals the show as Dark Helmet, the cast has great chemistry, and the movie’s self-aware humor is genuinely clever. Not every joke lands, and some of it feels a bit dated, but overall it’s a super fun, highly rewatchable comedy classic
