very interesting with a bit of uneven acting, lacking in character depth but poses interesting thought provocing questions.

My quick rating - 6.8/10. Another "prime" example of what can be done with a great plot and storytelling without the need for a Hollywood budget. When 3 engineers figure out a way to experiment with time travel, after using it on a limited basis for profit, they come face to face with the moral dilemma of needing it for a major event. Very well told and just plays close to home on the "what would you do" feeling. Not overbearing nor needs to be, just lets you watch as the story unfolds and since it is engrossing mentally, the short run time of 77 minutes flies right by.

Great movie and possibly the best time traveling movie ever. I will admit that after the first watch I was pretty stumped. I mean I pretty much lost it completely about half way in. That alone is so refreshing. You never see that in movies ever. That you actually have to think and use your brain a bit to understand what's going on. My excuse for not getting it the first time round is that I really wasn't expecting it. It took me very off guard. And that says a lot of how movies usually are; very spoonfeeding and overly simplified to the point where you can almost sleep through it and still get it. If there even was anything to "get" in the first place. I'm just saying that this movie made me look at other movies differently, and wish that they were more intelligent. That's how unique it is. It really leaves a mark on the mind, and makes you think stuff like that. Anyway this was a refreshing change of pace, and it's definitely a movie that requires several spins to get full effect. Unless you're really prepared for it, which I seriously doubt is possible without reading some instructions on the internet (which would ruin your first watch of the movie).

Similar to the true story of Apple and many other start-up companies out of someone's garage, Primer asks the question, "What if some entrepreneur inventors accidentally stumbled across the secret to time travel?" This well thought-out film is the most realistic answer to that question and how events might unfold. With it's wonderful acting and plot it is undoubtedly the gold standard for all low budget films.

The best time travel movie ever made. But beware - it's not the easiest watch either. You need to be alert when watching this. In many ways it feels like watching a documentary. And the science? The time problems? Took me three rewatches before I grasped all the moving parts. But hey, I'm a moron, so maybe you get it on the first watch.
