John Wick: Chapter 4 Ratings & Reviews
- ርልዪረJanuary 27, 2025/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿⊹ John Wick: Chapter 4 takes the thrilling and action-packed franchise to new heights, delivering an adrenaline-fueled experience that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats. Directed by Chad Stahelski, this installment continues the saga of the legendary hitman, played brilliantly by Keanu Reeves, who once again proves why he is the perfect choice for this iconic role. From the very first scene, the film wastes no time in plunging viewers into a world of intense action and gritty violence. The choreography of the fight sequences is nothing short of spectacular, showcasing Stahelski's unparalleled talent for crafting meticulously orchestrated combat scenes. Each punch, kick, and gunshot is executed with precision, and the result is a visual feast for action enthusiasts. In Chapter 4, the story delves deeper into the intricate underworld of assassins, unveiling new layers of the mysterious organization known as the High Table. The plot is rife with twists and turns, keeping audiences guessing and engaged throughout the entire film. It successfully expands upon the established mythology of the John Wick universe, introducing new characters and delving into their motivations and connections to the protagonist. Keanu Reeves's portrayal of John Wick continues to be a highlight of the series. Reeves effortlessly embodies the relentless determination and stoic presence that has made Wick such an iconic character. His commitment to the physically demanding role is commendable, and his intense on-screen presence adds depth to the film's relentless action sequences. The supporting cast also shines in their respective roles. Ian McShane returns as the enigmatic Winston, providing a captivating performance that showcases the complex nature of his character. Newcomers to the franchise, such as Halle Berry and Mark Dacascos, make a strong impression with their compelling performances, bringing a fresh dynamic to the story. Another standout aspect of John Wick: Chapter 4 is its stunning visual aesthetic. The cinematography captures the dark and gritty atmosphere of the underworld, juxtaposed with moments of vibrant color and stylized set pieces. The production design is top-notch, creating a believable world that feels lived-in and authentic. While the film delivers on its promise of heart-pounding action and gripping storytelling, it does require some suspension of disbelief. The level of violence may not be suitable for all audiences, as the action can be intense and graphic. However, for fans of the franchise and lovers of action cinema, John Wick: Chapter 4 offers an exhilarating and satisfying experience. In conclusion, John Wick: Chapter 4 is a worthy addition to the franchise, raising the bar for action films with its breathtaking fight sequences, engaging story, and exceptional performances. It successfully builds upon the established world of John Wick while leaving room for future installments. Fans of the series will not be disappointed, and newcomers will find themselves drawn into the high-octane world of John Wick.
- Ricardo BothaMay 18, 2025HOLY. MOLY. John Wick: Chapter 4 is an absolute masterpiece of action cinema! The choreography is mind-blowing, the visuals are stunning, and Keanu Reeves is better than ever. Every moment is edge-of-your-seat perfection. If you thought the franchise couldn’t get better, think again—this one will knock your socks off.

- naren shenoyDecember 10, 2025Holy wow! After being a little disappointed in Chapter 3, I did not necessarily have low expectations for this movie, but basically went in ready to be entertained and that’s all. This installation, while upping the ante in violence, body count, creativity and set pieces, still somehow captures the magic of the original for me. It’s kind of dumb how absurdly entertaining the John Wick franchise is. Keanu has been a part of arguably the 2 biggest and most influential action franchises in modern cinema history between the Matrix and John Wick. Such a cool dude. Man crush acknowledged.
- Kevin WardJuly 3, 2025Mind blown 🤯 This starts off a little slow, but man those last 2 hours and 46 minutes are a fkn wild ride 😉. Incredible cinema. Relentless and non-stop action that somehow never gets boring, which is a massive accomplishment for a 2 hour and 50 minute epic. The locations are all gorgeously filmed with vibrant colors popping off the screen in this otherwise dark and seedy pseudo-underworld setting. (Personally, I think it’s a must watch in IMAX. It looks truly stunning.) Each action scene somehow manages to top the last. I don’t watch trailers or anything, so everything in this movie was a surprise including the cast. Kudos to the casting director. Hiroyuki Sanada? Donnie Yen? Bill Skarsgârd? Clancy fkn Brown? (the list goes on…) Each one is note perfect. Skarsgârd and Yen in particular bring so much flavor to this universe. Loved, loved, loved all of this. Can’t wait to see it again in the theater. A thrilling and satisfying final act with a Minority Report-esque overhead shot action sequence, a grueling staircase battle and a classic duel.

- Mr CthulhuMay 7, 2025Amazing Action and Gunplay to be expected. It's better than 3 too!
- JohanBFLJuly 27, 2025Yeah... Yeah
- Joe GNovember 21, 2025Keanu is visibly sluggish here, raising the question of how much longer he can be pushed on-screen in black suits to perform kung fu. Visually, this is the strongest of the franchise. The colors, cinematography, and production design are immaculate—every frame meticulously crafted. It’s a film carried almost entirely by its aesthetic, as the plot, thin as it is, offers little worth investing in. The characters have grown tiresome, and while some of the action remains impressive, much of it feels repetitive. The violence, once inventive, now cycles through familiar patterns. A callback to the pencil only underscores how much the series is now referencing itself instead of evolving. Several new characters border on cartoonish, and in a series that once felt grounded—at least within its own heightened reality—these additions feel crammed in. Their backstories add nothing, and the supposed tension built around them never resonates, since none of these figures are known well enough to matter. It is no surprise that the films remain popular, and the expanded budget is evident in every set piece and location. What is surprising is the degree of praise this entry received, presented by many as a crowning achievement for the franchise. If this were a first installment, it would be astonishing. But as the fourth, following diminishing returns across previous entries, it feels far less impressive.
- Walter Jospeh KovacsNovember 2, 2025While some of the actions scenes were tightly choreographed, everything else was empty; just cringe and cliché. All the action sequences for the franchise could be compiled into a twenty minute short with nothing lost. Shame. I like Reeves. This is what you get when the director is a stuntman. The franchise gets higher rates than it deserves because modern (young audiences) aren't as discerning - they like low-attention-span stuff that doesn't require critical thinking. Why am I complaining about the audience and not the movie? It's the audience that have elevated the franchise well above where it should be. Some people have rated this five stars as in the best of movies. Go watch movies from Spielberg, Scorsese, Tarantino, Kubrick, Nolan to recalibrate your judgement against what a superb movie is and stop artificially inflating movie ratings so that more people waste their time with mediocre filler. It isn't a choice between action and good drama, the two can coexist in a movie.
- jackmeatJune 17, 2025My quick rating - 7.8/10. Hey Boppers, absolutely LOVE the homage to The Warriors. Anyone who has seen that flick will catch it right away, and if you haven't, make sure it is on your watchlist ASAP. John Wick: Chapter 4 delivers an adrenaline-fueled experience that kept me on the edge of my seat, so to speak. The cinematography deserves special mention, particularly the effective use of above-head camera work during the extended gun battles. This technique creates a unique visual perspective, immersing you in the action and making you feel like you're right there alongside Keanu Reeves. The film rarely gives you a chance to catch your breath, as it continuously bombards you with relentless, Hong Kong-inspired action sequences. Clocking in at 30 minutes longer than its predecessors, John Wick 4 expands upon the established frenetic pace of the franchise. The movie maintains the high-octane action that fans have come to love while adding fresh twists and turns to the story. For those who've followed the series from the beginning, this entry might just become your favorite one yet. While John Wick 4 delivers on the action front, it's worth noting that the story may feel somewhat familiar. If you're seeking a deep, intricate plot, you may be left wanting more. They did try and concoct something to pull you into a duel for an ending, but it really felt more like a means to get to the next elongated scene. Nevertheless, the film compensates with its sheer intensity and expertly choreographed fight sequences. I felt the need to try and find a flaw, and that was about the best I could do LOL. Laurence Fishburne again highlights every scene he is in, and Bill Skarsgård was an excellent villain. The whole flick is an action-packed thrill ride that pays homage to a cult classic and keeps the franchise's momentum going strong. With its above-head camera work, extended gun battles, and non-stop action, it delivers what fans have come to expect from the series. That being said, if you were not a fan of the insane, frenetic action from the earlier films, then you are absolutely not going to get anything out of this Hard Boiled inspired sequel. Can you DIG it!!!!
- Nathan MagretaAugust 29, 2025This has to be among the greatest action movies of all time. This is just too good of a conclusion!
