8 Mile Ratings & Reviews
- rightigAugust 1, 2025Good moving, weird pacing. Heavy battle makes up for it! Good watch but not necessarily a ‘movie night’ watch
- JeremeyJuly 13, 2025Yo — This ain't a movie — it’s a panic attack with a mic check. A notebook full of middle fingers and side effects. White boy, no phone, no name on the check — Still spit bars that left necks in permanent disconnect. First round? I choked. Second? I broke somethin’ open. Third? I tore my own bio apart just to weaponize the emotion. "I know everything he’s ’bout to say against me..." Took the words from his mouth, put mine back on the street. The crowd roars and wages war with me on repeat. "F* Free World — 3-1-3." No beat. No hook. No props. Just one kid in a hoodie that turned rock bottom to a coffin and buried the ops. No woman, no label, don’t need a pot or a plot — just one shot, a victim — and a mic to drop.

- sveiApril 26, 2025Era defining. Ages well too, well rounded female characters. Amazing casting. It says a lot about Em that he just did one perfect movie and then dropped it.
- HumptyFebruary 20, 2025His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti He's nervous, but on the surface, he looks calm and ready To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes sa loud He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out He's chokin', how?
- Eric BakkeNovember 4, 2024I saw 8 Mile, opening night at Seattle's Neptune Theater in the University District, amongst a bunch of white wanna-be college-aged rappers who were doing some rap battles while we waited in line to get in. It set the perfect vibe for what was to come. The movie pulled me in from the start, and by the time it ended, I couldn’t stop myself from saying to my companion, "that was a pretty f@#&ing good movie".
- corynthianFebruary 1, 2025Great movie
- Eldon McGuinnessJanuary 31, 2025As a movie, it's interesting, an apparent docudrama showing the hard knock Life of an up and coming rapper. If you're looking to get to know the artist, look elsewhere. Some of the rap battle sequences are pretty good, but overall the story just seems to want to make you angry for no reason.

- Dellvon C. FordNovember 30, 2024I gotta be honest.....the acting was decent.....the cinematography was a bit boring....the storyline was reminiscent of Purple Rain.....it feels grundgy as you watch but I think that was the intent.
