Lyuba is a young girl from the small provincial town of Klyuchansk. She works in a garment factory and is about to get married. However, on the eve of the wedding, Lyuba is betrayed by her fiancé. Fleeing from shame, she runs away to another city to her only relative, Aunt Katya, where she finds out that is pregnant. Lyuba wants to get rid of the child, but her aunt offers her another way out.
