Russell T. Davies' psychological thriller miniseries Tip Toe is, without a doubt, a profoundly challenging watch. Anchored by masterclass lead performances from Alan Cumming and David Morrissey, the show pulls viewers into a slow-burn suburban nightmare that feels uncomfortably plausible. Much like Sam Mendes’ iconic 1999 film American Beauty, Tip Toe finds its horror not in the supernatural, but in the rotting underbelly of seemingly ordinary domestic life. It uses the quiet, claustrophobic confines of a residential neighborhood to explore simmering resentment, toxic masculinity, and the toxic pipeline of online misinformation. Morrissey plays Clive with chilling, everyday ordinariness, turning casual friction between neighbors into a powder keg of bigotry and paranoia. The series doesn't offer easy answers or comforting resolutions, making its final episodes genuinely harrowing to sit through. It is aggressive, often blunt, and demands a lot emotionally from its audience. However, the biting commentary and raw psychological tension make it an essential, if deeply unsettling, piece of modern television. A must-watch.

This is absolutely one of the must-watch shows of the year. Russell T Davies crafts this well-written series starring Alan Cummings and David Morrissey. Neighbours Leo and Clive have lived next door for 15 years and become deadly enemies as the world around them becomes increasingly tense. The show explores the creeping prejudices into modern life. The first episode begins with the consequences of everything that’s happened before. What makes this series so compelling is that it’s happening right now.
