The collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable. But the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead it is seemingly a fight they cannot win.

E6BondsCarol sneaks out and leaves Hilltop but Daryl sees and asks her where she is going. She tells that she would hunt Negan and reluctantly accepts the company of Daryl. They stop at the border and Daryl finds Carol's true intention. In Alexandria, Siddiq and Dante are facing a mysterious epidemic with many residents sick. Negan is tested by the Whisperers and surprisingly survives. Eugene makes contact through radio with a mysterious woman. - Squeeze
E9SqueezeDaryl, Carol, Jerry, Aaron, Kelly, Magna and Connie escape from the horde of walkers walking and crawling through narrow tunnels until they reach an old mineshaft. They try to open a way out from the mineshaft but the claustrophobic Carol tries to bomb the horde with an old dynamite that Kelly had found in the mine. She drops the dynamite and the mine collapses with Magna and Connie inside. Meanwhile Negan and Alpha have intercourse in the woods. - Splinter
E20SplinterEugene's group is separated, and Princess is locked inside a train car. She is reminded of her past, and a splinter in her finger disturbs her. She is interrogated by the leader of the masked soldiers, but she refuses to respond the questions. Out of the blue, she subdues one soldier Davis and asks the fate of her new friends. - Diverged
E21DivergedDaryl and Carol come to a fork in the road and head their separate ways. Each going into their own type of survival mode, the easiest of challenges become much harder. E22Here's NeganThere is a great tension when Maggie sees Negan, and Carol leaves Alexandria with him in the morning. She tells him that the council banished him on the previous night and takes him to a house where his belongings are. Alone, Negan recalls his life with Lucille when she found that she had cancer. Then their lives after the zombie apocalypse, and how he became the feared Negan, and comes to a conclusion.
