Stalker Ratings & Reviews
Lyles' Movie Files
Jeffrey Lyles
As a Daryl/Alpha tease this was...a little underwhelming, but it's not like their first encounter should have a winner and a loser. Beta running wild in Alexandria was great however and helped make Stalker a very effective episode.

The Walking Dead this week had everything that horror TV should have: great story development, action, and some gorgeously eerie and terrifying imagery.
We Live Entertainment
Aaron Neuwirth
As an episode relying on both grizzly violence and deepening of characters, there's a lot to like here.
Syfy Wire
Alyse Wax
I love it when this show gets super horror-ific.
Pajiba
Brian Richards
Despite the nonsensical plot decisions that make an appearance in this episode, it was still better than last week's episode and contained much of the forward momentum that was previously missing.
Den of Geek
Ron Hogan
The knife fight between Alpha and Daryl is well-shot, chaotic enough with walkers and other Whisperers to effectively disguise Alpha's presence without muddying up the solid choreography.
Insider
Kirsten Acuna
I actually felt nervous watching parts of the episode because you feel like you're dropped into a horror movie and you're not sure what's going to happen next. It's quite satisfying.
Uproxx
Dustin Rowles
The Daryl and Alpha subplot was mostly effective, save for the terrible red filter [Bronwen] Hughes used to provide viewers a POV shot of Daryl with blood dripping into his eyes... it was an expertly choreographed fight sequence.
TV Fanatic
Paul Dailly
The Walking Dead battle episodes have always failed to live up the hype, but the show is in a great place at the moment.
Tell-Tale TV
Kevin Lever
There is an impressive heaviness that holds the whole episode together, this gripping tension that darkness is descending.
SFX Magazine
Alex Avard
At it's very best, the chapter treated us to some strong character moments from Daryl, Beta, and Gabriel, but boil it down to its rudiments, and little has really changed in the dynamics of the Whisperer war at large.
New York Magazine/Vulture
Richard Rys
Considering Daryl nearly took out that gigantic murderous freakshow Beta, you'd figure Alpha would be no match for him. But she's got a way of exceeding all expectations, and the brawl that ensues does not disappoint.

After last week's crummy mid-season premiere, I didn't expect The Walking Dead to give us its best fight sequence in years tonight... it was all very odd-but at least it was odd enough to be entertaining.
indieWire
Jeff Stone
"Stalker" might not let us know what's going on with Connie, Magna, or Carol, but it more than makes up for that by delivering two taut, exciting plots and ratcheting up the tension of the Whisperer War.
IGN Movies
Matt Fowler
We may have left "Stalker" not much different than when we entered it, save for Gamma now joining up with our heroes, but this chapter still contained a handful of entertainingly viscous and violent confrontations
Geek Girl Authority
Noetta Harjo
This was pretty intense for The Walking Dead. Much respect for the creepy hand busting out of the grave. That must have been a Greg Niccoterro addition.
Father Son Holy Gore
C.H. Newell
An intense episode. Some truly creepy moments.
Forbes
Erik Kain
This was a much better episode than last week. It was scarier, less aggravating (no Carol nonsense) and had more going on without getting bogged down in any one story.
AV Club
Alex McLevy
"Stalker" is another fraught and nervy edition of the show, wringing tension and excitement out of the pair of confrontations between Whisperers and protagonists that serve as the centerpieces.
