- CallumNovember 5, 2025⭐⭐½ – The Perfect Couple – The Rich, the Rotten, and the Ruined On the surface, The Perfect Couple glitters like a champagne toast at a Cape Cod wedding — all sun-drenched beaches, designer suits, and perfect smiles. But that’s the point: beneath every glass of rosé lies a family with rot in its roots. When a wedding guest turns up dead, the façade begins to fracture, and the pristine white of the event starts to stain. What follows is less a whodunnit and more a peeling away of civility. Every member of this so-called perfect family has something to hide, and each is disturbingly quick to sacrifice another to protect their image. The cracks begin as whispers and spilled wine, but soon we’re watching a social autopsy of wealth itself — where money buys silence, guilt is negotiable, and reputation outweighs truth. The show thrives in its glossy deceit. Like Big Little Lies and The Undoing, it weaponises privilege and charm, showing how easily beauty can mask brutality. Yet where those series built tension through moral complexity, The Perfect Couple sometimes loses its footing — more soap than thriller, more gossip than grit. Still, it’s hard to look away. Every sunset glows a little too gold, every smile feels just sharp enough to cut, and by the finale, you realise the title was always the cruelest joke. They’re not perfect — just perfectly rehearsed. 🍷 Pairing: A chilled glass of rosé — sweet at first sip, but the longer you linger, the more it tastes like regret left out in the sun.
- NickJune 26, 2025Classic murder mystery but in a more modern drama style. The ending was kinda meh. I would’ve liked to see what happened to everyone in the family at the end.
