The plot centers around Luke Ellis whose parents are murdered in the middle of the night by intruders. Luke wakes up at The Institute in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. Outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents, such as telekinesis and telepathy, who got there the same way Luke did.

- theicephoenixAugust 29, 2025Alright America buckle up because ol Josh has got somethin to say about this new show The Institute Now, most TV these days is about as exciting as watchin paint dry on a cold day in January but this here show actually grabbed me by the britches and held on You got this boy Luke Ellis just a regular smart kid mindin his own business when bam some goons bust in and cart him off Next thing he knows he’s wakin up in a place looks like his room but it sure ain’t home It’s the Institute A spooky top secret daycare for kids with powers like movin spoons with their minds and readin thoughts The folks runnin it led by that ice cold Ms Sigsby keep preachin about the greater good but c’mon we all know what that means They’re usin these kids like batteries and tossin em aside when they’re done Now the good part is watchin Luke and his new pals Kalisha Nick and little Avery fight back These kids got more grit than a sandblaster They’re the heart of the whole thing and when you see what they’re up against you’ll be rootin for em harder than your hometown football team on Friday night Meanwhile out in small town America you got Tim Jamieson an ex cop who just wants peace and quiet but he starts smellin trouble and before long his road crosses with Luke’s and buddy let me tell ya that’s when the fireworks start Is it perfect No sir There’s times when it slows down a bit like your uncle tryin to tell a story after three beers But even then the atmosphere keeps ya hooked Creepy halls guards with dead eyes kids disappearin into somethin called the Back Half It’ll put a chill in your spine So here’s Josh’s final word Four outta five stars The Institute is creepy smart and packs a punch It makes ya think about what folks in charge will do in the name of savin the world and whether the price is too dang high So quit wastin time on reruns America Sit down turn off your phone and give this show a watch You’ll thank ol Josh later
