Where to Watch Ludwig (2024)
Ludwig (2024) Ratings & Reviews
- CallumOctober 28, 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐ (out of 5) Ludwig – Puzzles, peril, and plenty of British wit. “Ludwig” brings a clever twist to the British detective genre. David Mitchell shines as a puzzle-maker who’s forced into detective work after his twin brother disappears — and, in true mystery fashion, he steps into his brother’s life to uncover the truth. The result is an unorthodox investigation where every case is solved like a crossword clue — logic, patterns, and wit replacing bullets and bravado. In your universe of tone, if Blue Lights is Warhammer 40K and Castle lives in the MCU, then Ludwig sits neatly between the two: grounded and occasionally grim like The Witcher, but still carrying that light, self-aware energy that makes British crime drama so watchable. The family dynamic gives it a warmth that offsets its darker moments, creating a balance few procedurals manage. There’s delightful comic relief, too — like Ludwig’s inability to drive stick, resulting in atrocious parking and even worse cover stories. Those touches keep the show human amid the mystery. Ludwig is the kind of series best enjoyed on a Friday night with a whisky and cheese on crackers — a show that invites you to solve the riddle right alongside it. Intellectually playful, emotionally grounded, and quietly addictive.
