Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it's reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

Landman Ratings & Reviews
- Matthew DiPietroJanuary 22, 2025Love the setting and premise. Casting is awesome. But the characters feel a little one-dimensional. As the season progressed, I cared a little less. I also don't buy the father-son relationship angle. That feels really stale.
- JohnDecember 2, 2025Every aspect of this show is just a pure Masterpiece! The writing is smart, dramatic, and funny. The subject matter is interesting and full of exciting, shocking twists and turns based on real events and the acting by every single member of the cast is something truly award worthy. We know everything that Billy Bob Thornton touches is going to be good and while the cast is full of old mega A-list actors, they deliver some of their best ever performances here. I can’t imagine a better choice than Thorton to play the lead. I hope he wins the Emmy for best actor this year because he is so deserving of it for his performance here. Ali Larter, Kayla Wallace, and Paulina Chàvez also have so many award worthy scenes as well. They are all absolutely captivating as tough no-nonsense women that know what they want and know how to get it in their own unique ways.
- caleb.mccordDecember 1, 2025Drama and a deeper look into the oil industry
- attilahlivaApril 4, 2025Absolutely powerful series. The dramaturgy is almost perfect, every scene carries weight. Billy Bob Thornton is phenomenal, but the supporting cast is outstanding too. I enjoyed every minute – I haven’t seen something this intense in a long time. The visuals and music perfectly support the atmosphere. The characters are deep and authentic – which is rare these days. Each episode leaves something behind. From now on, Billy Bob Thornton is among the greatest for me.
- Hipster ZOMBIEJanuary 26, 2025Billy Bob Thornton plays Oil Landman, Tommy Norris, who has to contend with faulty oil rigs, bureaucracy, and drug cartels. The series does a good job with the drama and intrigue that goes on with the oil business and Thornton brings along his likability and polarizing charm. Along for the ride is the ageless beauty Ali Larter who plays Thornton’s crazy ex-wife, Jon Hamm who plays Thornton’ tough as nails boss, and the always sensational Demi Moore.
- Kelly JoNovember 29, 2025Great show, a little slow at times but definitely worth watching!

- PlexecutionerXNovember 19, 2025One of my absolute favorite shows and one of Billy Bob's best roles!
- OlarflixFebruary 1, 2025It's a really good show staring Billy Bob Thornton - similar to the hit Yellowstone. Funny at times but also melodramatic at others. Intense and thrilling crime elements. It's like a mix between a modern western and a law drama.
- Matthew JamesJanuary 16, 2025Billy Bob Thorton's performance as a gruzzled old oil man is very captivating from start to finish in the first season.
- Bobby PolzerNovember 16, 2025One of my absolute favorite shows. If you like 1883, 1923, and Yellowstone you probably gonna like Landman too.
- MapleJuly 8, 2025This has potential to become the next ozarks
- CubaneAugust 7, 2025One of the exceedingly rare titles capable of keeping my entire family interested. The combination of Thornton's storyline taking a harsh look at carving out a life in the patch and his wife's... slow but entertaining descent into psychosis is able to grab a broad range of audiences.

- Davewilco84April 29, 2025This was a great first season. Gritty, great story.
