In the story, Kagami Taiga has just enrolled into Seirin High School when he meets Kuroko Tetsuya of the school's basketball team. Kuroko happens to be the shadowy sixth member of the legendary Generation of Miracles basketball team. Together, Kagami and Kuroko aim to take their team to the inter-high school championship - against Kuroko's former teammates.

After seeing how Shutoku, one of the three Emperor teams of basketball, dominates their opposition, the team realizes they have a long way to go if they are to improve and contend for the title.

Now That I Think About ItSeirin takes on Seiho, a squad built around an invincible defense. The unorthodox manner in the way Seiko moves is finally understood, but it may be too late. Will Seirin's streak finally be shutdown?

To WinSeirin's game continues against Seiho with neither team giving up points. Kuroko and Kagami are pulled after the first quarter, to preserve their strength. Can their team mates bring home the victory?

I Can't Have ThatThe game with Shutoku begins, with Midorima blocking Kagami's attempt at an alley-oop. Midorima scores the first goal with a three, but Kuroko makes a surprise retaliation by passing across the court to Kagami, who scores with a dunk.

That's Not ItSeirin is holding their own against Shutoku, but in the 2nd half Midorima and Takao’s abilities are unleashed, shutting down Seirin’s game completely

I Believed in YouThe 4th quarter begins. Riko told Kagami he only has two more jumps left in him, and he uses the first to block Midorima as a bluff. Kuroko uses his misdirection on Takao to draw his attention to himself.

You're All RidiculousAomine goes one-on-one against Kagami - each blocking the other's shot at the goal. Kuroko asks to stay in for the third quarter, determined to beat Aomine. Kagami reminds him to have faith in the team, and Seirin decides to bench Kuroko.

No!!Aomine's skills and erratic pace force Seirin to fall behind. Kuroko is subbed back in and Seirin cuts the lead down but Aomine intercepts Kuroko's Ignite Pass and taunts Kuroko about not having changed or improved since middle school.
