The story of Juvenal Antena, a popular leader from the slum of Portelinha; Marconi Ferraço, a man who stole money from a rich heiress (Maria Paula); and Branca, the owner of a private university. Other characters include interracial couple Evilásio and Júlia, corrupt businessman Barreto, and gay chef Bernardinho, who takes part in a love triangle with Dália and Heraldo.
