Cobra Kai Ratings & Reviews
- Daniel GustavssonOctober 12, 2024This show has quite a bit of teen drama for sure, but it's super faithful to the original 3 (yes, all 3, sigh) movies. It's retains a lot of that magical feel and it's just super well made. If you liked the original Karate Kid movies, this is just a continuation of that, more or less.
- Pissed Off PapaDecember 12, 2025This was a great series and it was great to see them all again after Karate Kid. The series finale leaves ya happy and smiling, but still a little sad knowing its ending. Who knows maybe in 10 years they will have another reunion. R.I.P. Mr Miagi. Pat Morita 1932-2005
- CallumDecember 3, 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Cobra Kai – Kicks, Nostalgia, and the Most Intense High School Feud in History As someone who’s spent years in an Okinawan style dojo, Cobra Kai scratches that martial arts itch in a way few modern shows manage. It feels like a genuine continuation of The Karate Kid universe — not a reboot, not a soft remake, but an honest extension of the world we grew up with. Seeing Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai circle each other, clash, evolve, and eventually merge is incredibly satisfying. Yes, it’s very American to wrap things up in a neat, uplifting bow, but in this case it makes emotional sense. These characters have earned their growth, even if the storytelling sometimes leans “feel-good montage” over realism. The biggest oddity — and the one everyone quietly thinks about — is the timeline. Six seasons, and somehow almost all the kids still seem to be in high school? If we take the show literally, these teens have been locked in an eternal junior year where karate tournaments are apparently the most important political, social, and spiritual events in the state. It’s hilarious if you think too hard about it… so best not to. What does hold up beautifully is the martial arts itself. Many in the cast are long-time practitioners, and it shows — even when the fights drift slightly into heightened TV choreography, the spirit of karate remains intact. And the adults? They’re a joy to watch. Ralph Macchio still looks like time forgot him. Meanwhile William Zabka and Martin Kove have aged into tough, seasoned warriors in exactly the way the story needs. They bring history, emotion, and scars (both literal and symbolic) to every scene. It’s dramatic, nostalgic, occasionally ridiculous, and utterly heartfelt — the perfect blend for a franchise built on crane kicks and personal growth. 🥋 Pairing: A cup of hot green tea — steady, traditional, grounding… the kind of drink you’d share after training, reflecting on the past while preparing for the battles still ahead.
- dogcomplexDecember 2, 2025The perfect great-vibe B show. It's so good at being a loveable 4-star B show it probably deserves a 5

- StovepipeMarch 25, 2025A lot of repetition to the point you know what's going to happen before it happens. But then you start to question if what you know is going to actually happen, but of course it does! Long gap in the last season milking a lame cliffhanger (from something that you knew was going to happen). The message in the end is good and positive. Never going to re-watch, but would recommend.
- Hipster ZOMBIEFebruary 15, 2025On paper there is no way on earth Cobra Kai, which is a sequel series to the popular Karate Kid film franchise, should be as good as it is. Scratch that, as GREAT as it is. While most sequel films or shows lean heavy in to nostalgia only, Cobra Kai delivers a welcome return of fan favorites but also moves the story forward with a new generation of students. From start to finish, Cobra Kai delivers excellent story telling, amazing action, and laughs for the whole family. Very few shows start strong and end just as strong. Cobra Kai delivers in ways most franchises aspire to. Highly recommended!
- Alex | Pop Culture BrainFebruary 27, 2025The final season was a little bloated but the last 3 episodes were pitch perfect in wrapping up the story and honoring the characters' growth and bonds.
- DarthMeteosFebruary 16, 2025An outstanding legacy sequel that improves on its source material in every conceivable way. Every character is given depth, every moment is given weight. It retroactively makes the original movies better just for being in proximity to this masterpiece. A nearly one-of-a-kind experience that not only improves on the source material, not only iterates on it, not only creates an unforgettable cast of new characters to complement the returning figures, but also updates the setting faithfully to the 21st century to tell a story of loss, struggle with identity, generational trauma and how to overcome all that by finding kindness and community. As I reached the final parts of this series, a melancholy overcame me to think that this cast, which I'd grown to love over the course of six seasons, would once more pass from my life. If that's not an indication of the deep attention and care the creators poured into every second of this series, I don't know what is. You need to see this.
