Beverly Francis Atherly-Patterson was born in British Columbia, attended college in Ontario, then crossed the ocean and settled in England where he specialized in playing virile American types in British films. His breakthrough role came in the crime drama The Good Die Young (1954). Following his return stateside, he appeared as Dave Thorne in Surfside 6, and as Joe Riley in One Life to Live
