- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025This takes a while to get moving, but the last act really delivers a fitting conclusion to this trilogy. I don’t know what I would have done if Maurice had died in this. Such a beautiful character, that one, and incredibly animated. Probably my least favorite of the trilogy. But don’t worry. That‘s like saying a parent has a least favorite child. (🤫 We do 🙊) Incredible trilogy as a whole.
- VarunOctober 19, 2024Man this was such a let down from the previous two films. This was supposed to be the finale of the trilogy and instead of making it grand or exploring new themes, they went with a prison camp story that’s been done so many times before. It’s just an unoriginal plot with good CGI. They should not have made Caesar speak so much English with his ape family, it makes him seem more human and removes that commanding animalistic aura. I don’t know why they killed Blue Eyes so early after giving him so much development in Dawn. I thought Woody Harrelson did a great job acting highly deranged and evil but again it was an unoriginal cartoonish villain that had no complexity. I did like seeing Caesar wrestle with his revenge fuelled emotions and flashbacks of Koba. Maurice is always a welcoming presence to have on screen. The visuals were amazing and this wasn’t a bad movie, but when you compare it to its predecessors, it isn’t that special and squanders so much potential for complex storytelling and character development. Caesar is in my opinion one of the best characters created in movie history, it was a mistake to off him just to bring finality to the series and the trilogy ends on a whimper. I hope the fourth film revives this franchise because I can’t get enough of awesome CGI apes battling philosophically and physically with human beings and amongst themselves.
- Nathan MagretaJune 26, 2025This film shows the struggle in the power-balance between man and animals with a franchise best film, (And this is one of the greatest franchises ever), and an amazing woody Harrelson.
- HumptyFebruary 23, 2025Caesar came home.
- darsanJune 14, 2025a perfect end to the trilogy and the emotions hit me harder the second time 😭😭.
- RyezooFebruary 15, 2025This is one of the best trilogies I've seen. Rarely do films progressively get better, but that's exactly what this film does! Andy Serkis is so fucking good. The emotional weight I feel and invest in is unreal. I don't know where to begin with my love for this film/franchise. The payoff for a the trilogy is here. I watched on the edge of my seat the entire time. Fearful for what will come next for our beloved apes. Woody Harrelson was understandble for his savage ways, but at the same time I wanted Cesar to rip his head off. That is what makes a great villain. The cinematography is breathtaking. The score is also utilized to maximum potential. The music plays a heavy role is moments when it's just the apes signing or as events are going down. Matt Reeves directed this movie masterfully and am ecstatic that he'll be directing the new batman. Even though everything is wrapped up perfectly. I would love to see more stories in this universe.
- Spaceman JoeMay 29, 2025One of the best movies of all time. Deep, dark, beautiful, tragic. Caesar’s gotta be one of the best and most well-written characters in anything ever.
- Mister ArnMay 16, 2025"War for the Planet of the Apes" had a real chance to explore some very interesting ideas, but instead it just used the crazy "Apocalypse Now" leader.
- The Movie HaterApril 11, 2025I did not enjoy this movie.
