- mason48925 lipca 2026These Final Hours is a really good movie. It deliberately sidesteps the usual high-action, big-budget apocalypse template. Instead of spectacle and effects, it zeros in on the emotional and psychological side of the end of the world—what it actually feels like for ordinary people when the clock is running out and there’s genuinely no hope left. That choice is what makes it work. Nathan Phillips (who, for the record, looks uncannily like a young Michael Bisping from the UFC) carries a lot of that weight. The film is honest about how most people would actually behave when the world is ending: selfish, lost, grasping for one last good time or one last connection. And yet it still finds room for the possibility of redemption through helping someone else. By the final stretch it becomes clear that sometimes the only thing that can still help *you* is forgoing yourself entirely—just trying to make one other person’s situation a little less terrible. It’s beautiful and sad in equal measure, and I respect the hell out of the fact that the movie goes there without flinching. The runtime is tight and smart; it never overstays. Every performance lands, but the little girl is the standout. She sells the vulnerability and sweetness so completely that you understand how easy it is for people to miss those things when they’re too locked inside their own fear. The connection with the mother works for the same reason—he shields her from certain truths (including about his sister), and that quiet protectiveness feels earned rather than forced. Yes, you have to accept the low-budget reality. The whole film has that Instagram-orange filter look, and a bigger budget would’ve given some of the sequences more scale. But the emotional core is strong enough that it doesn’t really matter. These Final Hours knows exactly what kind of story it wants to tell, and it tells it with clarity and heart.
- gnrrain24 grudnia 2025Much better than I was expecting. It's a movie with more to offer than what you might originally think. The main actor was great, and the young girl did well enough (besides one scene where it was bad enough to completely take you out of the movie). This is more of a character study of a man facing moral and ethical dilemma's as the world is coming to an end - and his choices in: those final hours (intended). The movie is graphic, sexual and violent, and pulls no punches. Enjoyable, even though I had some real problems with decisions the main character made. I'd recommend it, overall it's definitely worth a watch.
