- flavo43December 19, 2025The Untouchables is a stylish, gripping crime drama that brings Prohibition-era Chicago vividly to life through strong performances, sharp direction, and a memorable script. While heavily fictionalized, the film captures the essence of the battle between lawman Eliot Ness and gangster Al Capone with just enough historical grounding to keep it engaging while maintaining a fast, dramatic pace. Kevin Costner plays Ness with quiet determination, while Sean Connery’s Oscar-winning performance adds heart, wisdom, and moral weight to the story. Robert De Niro’s portrayal of Capone is larger than life, exuding menace and charisma in equal measure. Brian De Palma’s direction, combined with Ennio Morricone’s iconic score, elevates the film into something operatic and timeless. Accuracy takes a back seat to entertainment, but that’s part of the film’s appeal. The action is tense, the set pieces are unforgettable, and the stakes feel personal. The Untouchables may not be a documentary, but as a crime thriller, it’s expertly crafted and immensely satisfying.
- mickerdooNovember 5, 2025A charismatic Costner, tough Connery, cool Garcia and ruthless De Niro make this one of the greatest cops vs gangsters films ever made.
- Vincent ReggianniniJuly 11, 2025This a great movie with fantastic characters. Loosely based on the real life capers of Eliot Ness and Al Capone, Kevin Kostner creates a family-man character firmly rooted in doing the right thing who is teamed up with a grizzled, cynical, all-knowing real world cop played by Sean Connery. Deniro makes a frighteningly unpredictable Al Capone with an introductory scene that will make you recoil in fear and horror. Deniro is so convincing I have a feeling he would make the real Al Capone wet his pants. Some great lines, some tense albeit over-the-top scenes keep this movie moving to a conclusion we can all see coming, but it’s a fun ride.
- gamegye8March 11, 2025Corny as all hell, but the baby scene convinced me this was a comedy and not a drama
- Ugurcan OrcunFebruary 22, 2025It's far too diluted and unconvincing to be the epic you're looking for.
- SwayeeeFebruary 4, 2025A good time.
