Rango
Directed by Gore VerbinskiRango is a pet chameleon always on the lookout for action and adventure, except the fake kind, where he directs it and acts in it. After a car accident, he winds up in an old western town called Dirt. What this town needs the most is water, but they also need a hero and a sheriff. The thirsty Rango instantly takes on the role of both and selfishly agrees to take on the case of their missing water.

Rango Ratings & Reviews
- MrTrivetOctober 4, 2025I really like Rango - the animation is full of style, irony, and remarkable attention to detail. Every character is crafted with great precision, and the visuals impress with a raw, cinematic aesthetic. The film works thanks to its quick, biting gags, but its true strength lies in something deeper - a clear homage to classic westerns. You can feel the spirit of Leone and Eastwood in the framing, music, pacing, and even in the characters’ gazes. The creators don’t just play with the genre; they show it genuine respect. Rango is not only great entertainment but also a love letter to genre cinema. Johnny Depp performs with a mannered charm that perfectly fits the neurotic lead. He's full of exaggeration, yet with a precise sense of tone. He brings the character a mix of lightness, oddity, and charisma that would be hard to capture without his voice.
- Macaroni_noodlezSeptember 1, 2025I hated this when I was little.
- mickerdooAugust 1, 2025Beautiful animation from a smaller studio. Accompanied with an entertaining story. Vivid colors suppressed by western story. Different.
- sixxxshooterJuly 9, 2025Great animation, great voice acting, and great characters. An animated movie that adults can enjoy too.
- VarunOctober 19, 2024Rewatching after 12 years and this movie absolutely slaps! Amazing animation with so much style, unique characters, great music, epic backgrounds, fun action sequences, good humour and a decent plot. I had no idea it won an Oscar until I searched it up recently, definitely well deserved. This is now tempting me to replay Red Dead Redemption 2 lol. I like Westerns because they have the potential to tell endlessly fascinating and entertaining stories that reveal a lot about the human condition.
- AndreiTamasMay 11, 2025the names rango funny-really good kids movie and good for adults too-kinda deep
- EricMay 8, 2025If i had a nickel for every time Gore Verbinski directed a movie with Johnny Depp as the protagonist and Bill Nighy as the antagonist and it ended up being a masterpiece I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but weird it’s happened twice. Also yes I do live with the fact my favorite animated animal movie is produced by nickelodeon.
