Orca Ratings & Reviews
- Rob MacKinnonDecember 29, 2025A very silly yet entertaining”reverse” Moby Dick. Predates “Jaws: The Revenge” as the first sea creature out for vengeance movie? The best part is that Harris, Rampling et al play their roles completely straight, despite the preposterous premise. And look, there’s Bo Derek with her clothes on! She looked so familiar, I couldn’t place her at first.
- Pascal BollierSeptember 22, 2025does not get the attention it deserves. it's called a "Jaws" rip-off. there's something to that, sure, but it's not like those italian movies that were made in the wake of "Jaws". there's more to it. the characters are engaging and not one-dimensional. morricones score is wonderful. the tension between the cute look of the whale vs. its actions, the tragic backstory of the villain....it adds an intriguing complexity. Recommended!
- StairwaytothestarsSeptember 18, 2025An underrated little gem that was truly ahead of it's time! Some people lack respect and empathy for nature, and that is sad and concerning. The core message of this movie is to respect all species of life, and I proudly do.
- Jacob O’NealJuly 11, 2025Dumbledore goes on a whale hunt with Bo Derek and a nerd. It wanted to be Jaws, but instead it became a joke. I always imagined Orca like the movie within a movie in One Crazy Summer (if you’ve seen One Crazy Summer you know). The movie was just plain bad. I only watched it for Richard Harris and Bo Derek. But it really wasn’t worth it.
- Mister ArnMay 25, 2025"Orca" flips the script of the classic "Moby Dick," casting the whale as the relentless hunter and the fisherman as the pursued, despite the bizarre twist where the fisherman inexplicably seeks the whale's vengeance, leading to unfortunate fatalities among his crew. The film maintains a degree of watchability, primarily due to the adept performances from the cast, which render some otherwise absurd scenes engaging.
- VidNovember 25, 2024Pretty poor.
