- RipLinesMan2025年4月20日Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Event Horizon (1997) both push men to their limits in the face of forces that defy control, one through kinetic desperation, the other through metaphysical collapse. Ethan Hunt races to stop the world from tearing itself apart; Captain Miller simply tries to hold his together while drifting inside a ship that has already gone to hell. Hunt moves with purpose; guided by instinct, loyalty, and near-impossible odds. His body breaks, but his faith in people doesn’t. Miller, by contrast, begins with command and ends with surrender, watching his crew succumb not to failure, but to memory sharpened by madness. One is tested by betrayal and gravity; the other by guilt and gravity that bends reality. The Final Reckoning is about surviving the fallout. Event Horizon is about becoming it. In one, you run toward the danger to save the world. In the other, you realize the world has already ended and you brought it with you.
- Megan Cruz2025年5月31日I really wanted to trust Ethan Hunt one last time but I just can’t get on board with this. In fairness, this is certainly one of the most impressive bloated vanity projects I’ve ever seen, but it’s still just too messy and absurd to justify itself. Still, the stunts are, as always, absolutely mind blowing. Tom Cruise has got to be certifiably insane but it’s kinda worth it for his contributions to cinematic history. I wish that this film didn’t feel like an snl skit parodying the MI franchise most of the time. I wish Gabriel was even a little more complex than a potato. I wish Ethan Hunt didn’t have a full blown transformation into the messiah. But even with all the many complaints I have about this film, the worst part is that this film drags and I was bored for much of the runtime. It’s not the farewell I would have liked from one of my most beloved franchises, but it has its moments. Thank you for your service Mr Hunt.
- Cole2025年5月19日Tom asked us to trust him one last time and you better. The first half demands your patience before it catapults you into the best sequences this franchise has to offer. I don’t think there’s a more tense and jaw-dropping moment than Ethan going into the submarine. Half an hour of silence, which is louder than any form of dialogue one can conjure — I was stress-eating my popcorn while leaning forward the whole time because I couldn’t believe this SOB had done it (again). That goes without mentioning the awe-inspiring plane sequence. It’s so unbelievable and a testament to this franchise’s (Tom’s) willingness to take the hardest and longest path to entertain us. In a time when we have “the entity” everywhere making us complacent and lazy, you can count on Ethan Hunt to remind humanity of what we’re capable of. Sure, his supposed final journey can be a bit over bloated and messy but when something like this is created with the purest intentions, that’s irrelevant. I sobbed, I smiled — I had a wonderful human experience.
- Joel2025年5月18日Too high of stakes, too many characters, too much exposition, too much nostalgia, and most notably not enough stunts. Takes an hour and a half for the movie to wake up and remember what this franchise is. All the fun from the previous movies is nowhere to be found here. There are 2 incredible action set pieces in this movie, but the drudge you have to sit through to get to them is tedious. I think Dead Reckoning set this movie up to fail, the story just got too big and bloated to handle. This is really going to test audiences with its slow pace and how self referential this film is.
- MrTrivet7日前After the screening, there is a sense of calm closure to a series that has spanned 30 years of jumps, chases, and explosions. There is something satisfying about it - the finale truly brings a chapter of action cinema to an end. At the same time, what proves “impossible” in this installment is satisfying the viewer, as the franchise’s characteristic lightness and self-aware humor give way to pathos and solemnity. The result can be heavy-going; at times, the film feels weighed down by its own ambitions, as if it had forgotten that this series worked best as pure popcorn action. Compared to the first part of the Reckoning duology, this installment feels less fresh and less impactful, despite its great final-scale spectacle. Ultimately, it remains a solid, visually impressive send-off for a franchise that has defined spy action cinema. It is also undeniably a series that encapsulates Tom Cruise’s career - so much so that Ethan Hunt feels like his natural alter ego. And it is hard to fault him: he is clearly still fully committed, pushing forward at full speed, without holding anything back.
- zalic2025年8月18日Well, that kinda sucked.
- Nishant Arora2025年6月5日Watched first-day first-show in IMAX, blockbuster ending to the MI franchise.
- Jeremy Buttel2025年8月22日Say what you like about Tom Cruise, but he makes damn good movies!
- ZaCkOnE2025年6月2日What a franchise ❤️
- Filippo Cogolo2026年3月23日I honestly kinda liked it, slow but not too bad
- Hylax2026年3月16日Finally finish
- falker2025年5月24日It sure tries to over explain a convoluted plot to the audience. The dialog can be wooden as hell. Some actors are like cardboard cutout versions of themselves. But my goodness, when it's fun, it's SO FUN. When it's suspenseful it's SO SUSPENSEFUL. Certainly not the best, maybe not top 3. I'd liken it more to "Live Free or Die Hard". Great when it needs to be, as good as you'd expect.
- Chris C2025年5月23日Whether or not the series continues on (with other agents/teams), "The Final Reckoning" is an absolutely wonderful love letter to all the fans of the franchise. The plot, as always, is ridiculous, but it's easy to set that aside and just bask in all of the action and beautiful locales. And what action it has! Each film in the series has always one-upped the previous for the scale of action involved and this one is no different, including some truly jaw-dropping set pieces. But more than anything else, this manages to tie all of the previous movies together in a beautiful way. There might have been some retconning involved to explain some of those tie-ins, but it worked incredibly well nonetheless. If you've ever enjoyed a Mission Impossible movie, don't pass this one up. See this on the biggest screen you can!
- Mike2025年8月23日Was fun, and not your typical MI movie
- jackmeat2025年8月28日My quick rating - 7.2/10. You’d think a 170-minute movie would have plenty of time to waste, but Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning sprints out of the gate and doesn’t look back. For something that clocks in at nearly three hours, it’s almost shocking how quickly it moves. The story is intricate, packed with moving parts, but still surprisingly easy to follow. Credit goes to the sharp editing that threads everything together without losing momentum. It’s clear the filmmakers wanted this to feel like the culmination of Ethan Hunt’s thirty-year journey, and in many ways, they pull it off—though maybe not quite as hard-hitting as one might expect from a grand finale. Of course, the real selling point here is the action. Tom Cruise once again takes every opportunity to play Mr. Show-Off with his stunt work, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. Whether it’s leaping off impossible heights, riding vehicles where no sane person would, or holding his breath longer than a Navy SEAL, Cruise continues to prove he’s Hollywood’s most committed daredevil. Sure, the Fast and Furious franchise gets ribbed for ridiculous, physics-defying set pieces, but let’s not kid ourselves—the Mission: Impossible films are guilty of the exact same thing. The difference is, these stunts are both insane and staged so well you can’t help but buy in. The cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking. There are shots here that are simply jaw-dropping, and the underwater submarine sequence is a masterclass in tension. It’s one of those rare moments where I completely forgot the film’s narrative hiccups because I was so locked in. This is the kind of spectacle that demands the biggest screen possible, and it delivers on that front without question. That said, there are issues. For one, the script leans heavily on exposition, so much so that I occasionally wanted to yell, “Enough talking, just throw Tom Cruise off another cliff already!” And while it’s fun to see familiar faces like Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg return, the film introduces so many additional characters that several of them feel like nothing more than pawns shuffled around the board. They’re there to keep the plot moving, not to give us anyone new to root for. Then there’s the villain problem. Gabriel, played by Esai Morales, makes for a sinister presence, but his routine is frustratingly repetitive. He shows up, threatens or mansplains something, then disappears until the next scene, where he does the same thing again. It’s hard to feel the weight of the supposed ultimate adversary when his menace keeps fading into the background. And that brings me to the finale. For a movie carrying the subtitle “The Final Reckoning,” it doesn’t quite land the emotional haymaker I was expecting. It’s still thrilling, still entertaining, but it doesn’t pack the kind of gut punch you’d hope for from the end of a thirty-year saga. Even with those flaws, I can’t deny this is a wildly entertaining blockbuster. The tension, the stunts, the sheer spectacle—it’s everything you’d expect from a Mission: Impossible film, even if it stops just shy of greatness. Respect where it’s due: Tom Cruise keeps raising the bar, and for that alone, this ride is worth taking.
