- jackmeatAugust 21, 2025My quick rating - 7.8/10. Since plex dropped that other action flick into my "Tis the Season" library, why not refresh myself with another classic? Last time I watched this, 1080P wasn't even remotely a thing. This movie redefined the buddy cop movie and solidified Mel Gibson as a top box office star. The chemistry between the two actors is what made this legendary. Not going to get too full-blown since I am sure nearly all have seen this. Still a good one to bust out for the holidays.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have incredible chemistry, and the dynamic between their characters is what really makes the movie shine. The mix of intense action, smart writing, and a little humor is perfect. While some parts feel a bit dated, it’s still packed with great fight scenes and memorable moments. If you’re a fan of 80s action, this is definitely a must-watch.
