Demons 2 Ratings & Reviews
- markmental666April 30, 2025DEMONS II (1986) “The sequel to the gore-drenched nightmare you didn’t survive — this time, the terror comes home!” Lamberto Bava’s follow-up dials down the raw savagery of the original in favor of slick apartment interiors, aerobics class chaos, and one of the cheesiest endings ever piped into a living room. The ideas are solid: TV becomes the new demon gateway, and your birthday girl tantrum might just summon hell. But as the blood dries and the synths rise, what’s left is a stylish shell with half the teeth. Come for the demon baby, stay for the MTV music video style ending. Just don’t expect the apocalypse to stick. 2.5 out of 5 – “Like watching Demons 1 on cable… edited for content and brought to you by a hair gel commercial.”
- Matthias_812April 4, 2025Look, I want to call out all the ones who don't give Demons 2 the glory it deserves. Demons gets high praise (as it should) but then its sequel is seen as the bastard stepchild although it retains the elements that made the first so great- just not as effective. Demons 2 is still chocked full of incredible practical effects, horrifying scenes of demons, at a lightning speed of pacing. There never is a dull moment. It's violent, it's bloody, and at times pushing boundaries of that day. Find another movie from this era that shows a child get ripped open from the inside as a demon blows through his insides like a chestburster from Alien. The Demoni franchise is what horror is all about. These two films together are the definition of horror in my book and both have some of the best practical effects in the genre.
