- Kevin Ward6 juli 2025Loved a lot of the elements in this one from the excellent opening, the Goblin score, the signature Argento camera movements, solid mystery and some great kills made for a really satisfying Giallo. Elevator kill for the win, though.

Dario Argento is a true visual artist whose imagery often draws inspiration from, or directly echoes, the great masters of figurative art. From the nocturnal atmosphere of Hopper's Nighthawks to the dramatic chiaroscuro of Caravaggio, the film's color palette, lighting, and camera work create a succession of astonishing images—individual works of art in their own right. As in Blow-Up, David Hemmings witnesses a murder and is drawn into the role of an amateur detective. The result is a mesmerizing blend of visual beauty, suspense, and terror that remains one of the defining achievements of Italian horror cinema.

It took me three tries bc I kept falling asleep 😰 (I’ll take part of the blame, as I only would attempt to watch it near the witching hour) God that theme song fucking rocks. Plus I love the Goblin score. Always excellent. Masterful reveal.
- Rocco DOrazio29 december 2024Probably one of the best directorial flexing films ever. Argento is just banging on all cylinders in this one. Helps that there are two strong lead performances and Goblin doing their thing. The film is too long, and there are some questionable music timings
