Cabaret Ratings & Reviews
- Charles LondonJune 4, 2025Cabaret is not your ordinary musical. The themes are dark, the musical numbers are hedonistic, the environment is decadent, and the egnimatic characters are all of the above. This adds up to a rather enjoyable two hours. The setting is early 1930s Germany where the arts are flowing, the politics are shifting, and the denizens of Berlin are caught in the middle. The movie is like a farewell serenade to Weimar culture just as the Nazis begin to ruin the party. Liza Minnelli is captivating, Joel Grey is an absolute scene stealer, and the music is difficult to get out of your head.
- Risk The BardApril 22, 2025I love dark cautionary tales. I love Liza Minnelli. I love musicals. This has all three
