You can almost see the desperation to land a big name — I’m guessing Jon Voight got paid very well (or snagged a nice chunk of the box office) to show up and do the most basic performance imaginable, complete with what might be the worst Spanish accent ever put on film. Honestly, J.Lo’s ears must’ve been bleeding on set. That said, if you completely shut off your brain, it kind of works. Big snake, cheesy deaths, over-the-top reactions, and zero shame. It’s not good — but it is entertaining in a “lazy Sunday afternoon” way
- Ray Hopkin16h agoI sat down ready to watch the new 2025 movie, but realised I hadn't seen the original since it came out many moons ago, so decided a rewatch is in order! It's such a fun, goofy, B movie, and it knows it too! The cast is perfect (although I still don't know what accent Voight was trying to do!). As long as you accept the dated effects and not great dialogue, it's a great time!
- ርልዪረFebruary 2, 2025“It’s about this big mama snake!” That’s how I remember ice cube describing this film in one of the promo interviews and it’s stuck in my brain. I think this films great. Fun film with a great main villain. Some dodgy effects but overall good for the time. Crazy to see Owen Wilson and j lo together in a film near the start of their careers and again all these years later in marry me. At the time this was a 5 star film. Compared to todays, it’s a 5 star, must see, classic!

- James SaenzDecember 3, 2025worse than i remember, which does not bode well for the rest of this series watch through. at least the actors are sexy (j-lo and kari wührer are stunning and this is probably the most i’ve ever been attracted to owen wilson), at least it still looks pretty since it’s shot on film and in a real location with some competency, and at least the practical anaconda looks cool at times. jon voight’s accent though, jesus. i’m honestly just spoiled because i now know what a good creature feature following a group of people on a boat in the amazon can look like (thank you, creature from the black lagoon).
- stuhannafordOctober 14, 2025Someone clearly got a job-lot deal on the licence to the 'bite and wrap' CGI... it wouldn't be so bad, if it also didn't look like they'd bought it on Temu. Dreadful and repetitive graphics... to the extent that it's worth watching for that alone, to have a giggle. Expensive looking cast, but the only one worth the entry fee is Voight... channelling some form of foreign accent, with more than one or two strangely unsettling faces being pulled throughout. Along with the rest of the film, more amusing than terrifying. Script is a touch lacking in gravitas shall we say, but on the whole, it's short and easy to stomach... which is more than can be said of some of the characters.
