Maria was on her way to becoming a beautician when her mother's illness forced the 22-year-old to come home to care for her. Maria's mom has since moved on to a better place. Maria becomes maid for the insanely wealthy Ridgeway dynasty.

However, Maria realizes that she gets too comfortable and has to face the challenge of asking Mrs. Ridgeway for a raise. Meanwhile, Anna tries to win Douglas's affection back after he finds a new girlfriend.
