The original didn't do us Gen Xers any psychological damage - he says shaking at the thought of the podlings being drained... and now the Gelfings being drained for their essence. Is Hup the greatest character of recent years? Yes! Do I want to be Hup? YES! Is it a thinly veiled critique of Tories, Republicans and their money over humanity grubbing selves? Yes. Does this mean it's even better? Yes. Do idiots not like it cause it shines a lot on what evil things they are? Yes. If you don't like Muppets there's something wrong with you - something truly broken that has left a gaping hole through a lack of wonder. A genuine cultural crime that this didn't get a second season.

I’m incredibly impressed by the sheer effort put into this production; the world is breathtaking, and the designs for the Gelflings and Skeksis are brilliant. One detail I loved was how the Skeksis are portrayed as filthy and evil, yet they remain strangely loyal to one another. It’s a tragedy that Netflix canceled it, but I’ll keep hoping for a second season.

It felt like fantasy the way it used to be: tactile, emotional and deeply weird. Rian, Deet, Brea, they weren’t just characters, they were echoes of childhood wonder. And Aughra? Still the cosmic crone we didn’t know we needed. The voice cast was stacked (Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Mark Hamill, Simon Pegg) and the music swelled with epic weight. But then,silence. No second season. No resolution. Just a cliffhanger and a cancellation that felt like betrayal. In an age of endless CGI and safe storytelling, Age of Resistance dared to be different And it paid the price. Still, what we got was magic. A single season that honored Henson’s legacy and proved that puppets could still move hearts.
