In the boundless Volga steppes, a gang is rampaging, robbing trucks and stealing foreign cars. For many months, police officers have been unsuccessfully trying to get on the trail of criminals. With each new robbery, the bandits hone their skills more and more, leaving no clue to the operatives. To neutralize the criminals, the police have to take a desperate step - to catch the gang "on live bait." The bait is a trailer driven by police officers - two men and a woman.
