Determined to leave an Ottoman legacy, he initiated sweeping reforms, reshaped the administration, and commenced the construction of the Fatih Mosque, though an incident at the site deeply impacted him. Amidst these changes, a secret organization led by Plethon and Notaras began plotting, exploiting weaknesses to advance their ruthless goals, creating new challenges for Sultan Mehmed as he pursued his vision for the empire's future.
