Feeling lonely and alienated from her family, Penny finds solace in her friendship with Mr. Nobody, a voice that lives in a cave near a spring. Mr. Nobody is in fact a bodiless life force who becomes fiercely protective of his human friend. Trouble arises when Smith discovers that the jacks Mr. Nobody gave Penny as playthings are diamonds.
