Tired of having to rely on "double dating" with Chachi, in other friends' cars, Joanie asks for permission to have a car of her own but gets refused by her parents. Since Chachi doesn't have the money for this, she sneaks off and gets one herself. She discovers, however, it's easier said than done to keep it a secret from Howard and Marion.
