Extinct (2017) Ratings & Reviews
- marengoAugust 9, 2025OMG, wow what a slow slog. It might be watchable with the sound off to see the pretty outdoors scenes of Utah.
- golddustw1January 7, 2026I would disagree with the other reviewer as to this being a "slow slog," but I cannot IMHO give it more than three stars. The cliff-hanger ending spoiled any possibility of a real or imagined continuity. What were Ezra and Silas' mother doing on that ship with Duncan? What did Duncan mean by being ready? What was the ultimate plan? Were Duncan and the mother, aliens or human all along? Also, it seems like Jax was reverted back to his human state but who was rising from the lake? One more short season could have answered all these questions or even a 2-hour movie like some shows have done. It was almost a waste of money, actor's talent and director's and crew's time. The plot was interesting and all the episodes leading to the last one showed great character growth, good action sequences and a believable story progression, but the series crumbled to dust at the end just like the Ancestor. The only real winner here was the state of Utah who got paid for the use of the land without any pain and suffering for it.
