Commander Richard Julian secretly pays a very strange visit to old Sam Colorado in the Grand Canyon. Chris reaches the Commander in crypto-transmission to ask him for a few days of rest at the Grand Canyon. To keep his trusted man away, Richard Julian immediately gives him a mission of "all rest": Go and find Georges-Albert Durand-Vermeil, the governor of Pallonia, one of the countries of the Center. For Chris Colorado, the return trip, which was supposed to be a walk, turns into a nightmare, while the old Sam, decidedly intimate with Richard Julian, informs him of his mysterious research...
