I’m enjoying this way more than I should. I really like the special effects don’t know how people can dislike these and give praise to pure CGI scenes. Rather have an Alien head on a stick than an obvious 3D model.

stylistically distinct entry into the franchise without over reliance on nostalgia, egregious fan service or soulless deepfakes of dead actors (i’m looking at you, romulus). even though the ship sequences are nearly mirror images of the original film, there’s still enough of a difference in the editing and direction to give it a unique feel. i don’t quite gel completely with the world that’s been built, but i am still invested enough to see where the journey will take us.

I have to say I hate when people get their hands on a well established franchise and discard all the canon for their own ideas. Nobody is as guilty of this as Rian Johnson with Star Wars but Hawley offends pretty badly here in Alien Earth. Alien Earth has no business being in the Alien franchise. Hawley wanted to make a cool space show and took advantage of the enormous fanbase of the Alien franchise to springboard it. His ideas are not good enough to stand on their own. Nature of humanity and human intelligence. Big snore. Peter Pan? Seriously what childish stupidity. Why are we even on Earth? Could have easily been done in space. There are many other issues. The list is LONG. Anyway, there is some good entertaining stuff to be found in between all the laziness and "wouldn't it be cool if" immaturity. As whole it doesn't work at all in my opinion and it certainly adds nothing to the world of Alien.

Only the art direction saves this show from a one-star rating. The acting is bad (except Timothy). The script is written by morons

    So far, so good.

I don't even know what to say. ALL THE WRITERS SHOULD BE FIRED AND THE SCREENPLAY IS WILD. Last time I checked the xenomorph can't take pulse rifle rounds to the face and yet Little girl wonder can kill it with a blade that didn't melt from the acid. The dumbass decisions made by the entire staff, the ships staff and all involved was just assinine!! The only ones that I liked in all the shows are the 2 droids that have tried to kill each other. Half of this stuff was so far from believable. So season 2 she's just going to train her dragons to hunt now?? GREAT EFFECTS BUT HORRIBLY BAD EVERYTHING ELSE

The series started off really well: great atmosphere, solid world-building, interesting characters and good visual effects. However, after the first three episodes, the story takes a nosedive into absurdity. I actually had to force myself to finish it. Every adult character seems to make unbelievably foolish decisions, especially the scientists, both on the ship and later on Earth. Their choices are so illogical that it's hard to take the story seriously. The final three episodes are so poorly written that they become completely unbelievable. The fact that this is a prequel and not set after the third original movie doesn't make any sense: like they have weapons to immobilize the Xenomorph and synth are old news??!!; Did any of the writers watch the movies before writing this mess?? The saddest part is what they’ve done to the Xenomorph. They've stripped away everything that made it terrifying and iconic. Instead of a cunning, hive-minded organism driven to preserve its species, it's been turned into an obedient attack dog. All the mystery and fear that made it iconic is just... gone ... There's no more collecting hosts, no hive structure, no eerie intelligence. It's just not scary anymore. The tv series is a mess, ruined by incompetent childish writers and morons who green lighted the worst Alien material ever done.

Season 1: It was okay. The Aliens are a minor detail in what is really a let’s put children in super robots soap opera. Literally, what could go wrong - idiots. They deserve what they got. The show is not original but instead takes inspiration Lord of the Flys as well as other better TV shows. My hope is this will be a blip and the writers will look towards the Alien movies for ideas as currently- this is making not only the recent but all of the new films obsolete and irrelevant. It is lazy writing and off choices. The films over reliance on PeterPan is exhausting and not as applicable as Dr. Moreau or the aforementioned Lord of the Flys. FX do better in Season 1. Aliens are not pets that because you can speak to them do your bidding that would have been figured out long before a preteen girl in a robot came into the picture.

Who would make children immortal? An eternity of, "Are we there yet?"
