Normies like EdgeRunners, Hipsters like GITS or Serial Experiments Lain, but true cyberpunk fans know that those anime suck. Those anime pretend to be cyberpunk by pulling generic ideas from Blade Runner, but they don't understand what cyberpunk is; they don't understand that cyberpunk is both a thriller genre and a mystery with devastating twists; a world divided into a two tier society, the haves and have-nots, where the protagonist faces insurmountable odds because the upper society controls all manor of life and the solution to the story usually requires the protagonist to "break" their world. The Matrix understood that, Dark City understood that, Altered Carbon got it, The Expanse as well, and Akudamma Drive played that fiddle like a true cyberpunk should till the very end. Akudama Drive gets what cyberpunk should be.
