- jackmeatAugust 25, 2025My quick rating - 6.2/10. Frank Grillo is one of those actors who I find is really hit or miss on what he appears in and how well he performs. I am not sure if he adjusts up or down depending on the quality of the story, but he is very inconsistent. Either way, though, I am a fan of his flicks typically. This is one of those times where he nails the role and takes a pretty linear and simple story and makes it work better than I was expecting. He plays a getaway driver who gets double-crossed during a robbery and needs all of his skills to attempt to survive and save his family along the way. Instead of going into an all-out action fest, this one plays a more psychological path to accomplishing its goal. It also doesn't have the budget of a Transporter flick either, and at times that does show through. But that is also part of what makes this stand out somewhat, since it feels very claustrophobic, as he does most of the problem-solving behind the wheel. For being 82 minutes, Jeremy Rush was able to keep the suspense up for nearly the entirety. And considering this is his first full feature flick, this is definitely a name to keep an eye on. This was on Netflix, not sure if it is still there, but if so, I suggest checking it out if interested in a solid action/thriller that uses a minimalistic style to really keep you glued to the TV screen.
